Simama Campus Update
Rescue Home Construction Begins
The Simama Campus is a major part of the Simama Project’s long term vision for sustaining and expanding our impact. It will serve as the main physical location of most Simama Programs and is designed to both improve Simama’s programmatic efficiency and provide long term financial sustainability.
In March, we broke ground on the new Simama Rescue Home which will be the first building on the campus. The work is progressing quickly and we expect the home to be ready around July 2026. The rescue home will provide basic, modern amenities including reliable electricity, water, and sanitation for up to 100 children plus house parents. The home will have age and sex segregated dorms, open spaces, and proper amenities and restrooms for full capacity. With Simama losing access to the current Baraka Home facility this year, the new Rescue Home is coming just in time.
Special thanks to our generous private donors who made this dream a reality!
About the Simama Campus
Nestled on 30 acres in the shadow of Mt. Kenya, the final Simama Campus will include the Rescue Home, the Center of Worth, staff housing, farming and vocational training programs as well as supporting facilities. Importantly the Simama Campus will allow us to:
Scale Impact: The campus will allow us to double the number of children we can support through our programs.
Security for our Kids: The campus will allow us to dramatically improve the security and safety of the kids we support.
Sustainability for the Simama Project: The campus will allow us to reduce costs and generate income for long-term sustainability of the Simama Project.

Water Access Project Complete: Solar-Powered Water Pump Installed
While we were able to drill a successful borehole last year, we needed a strong pump to tap into what will be the main water source for the Simama Campus. Luckily, we were able to secure a co-funded grant to install the solar-powered water pump and the project was completed in early 2026. As you can see from the pictures, many of our students were eager to help out while some of our older students worked with the crews to install the pump and supporting solar-power system.
We are so grateful to our supporters who provided the funding. Check out the Simama Campus Vision document linked above for what comes next as we build the infrastructure.
