Sophie Kitonga is currently the Manager of the Simama Transition Home. She started working as a social worker and counselor with the Simama Project in March 2017 dealing with child care and protection and has been with Simama ever since. 

Sophie has over 17 years of deep experience and expertise in the field of psychosocial services. She began her career in Nairobi working with children from the streets helping to rescue, rehabilitate, re-integrate, and re-socialize them back in society. Afterwards, Sophie worked with adolescent girls and young women as a case worker dealing with HIV prevention and harmful gender norms transformation as part of the USAID-funded DREAMS project in Nairobi.

Sophie holds a Certificate in Guidance and Counseling, Diploma in Social Work and Social Development and a Bachelor of Arts Degree certificate in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Nairobi.

She loves cooking layered flatbread, reading inspirational books and listening to inspirational music as her hobbies.
